9 months old.

Today the little lady is nine months old which means she's been outside for pretty much the same time as she was inside (although maybe not exactly the same amount of time because she was lazy and didn't come out until twelve days after she was due).

The last nine months have been wonderful, emotional, tiring exhausting and testing but all the crap just gets fuzzier by the day. The happy times, however, are fresh in my memory. The first time I held her (even though I was high), fed her, slept with her in my arms, first smile, laugh, tooth... I remember every second of each happy memory we've made.

My favourite picture of her - the day we came out of hospital. The 'angry elf' face.

And I'm looking forward to making many more.

Exhaustion

Ah you've probably heard this a thousand times before and if you're a mama you've thought this a million times before: I am EXHAUSTED.

The teething has started up again and it's kicking my butt. The kid won't nap and even if I do get her to nap, it's for twenty minutes max. She's restless throughout the night and won't settle unless I cuddle her (I remember moaning about the lack of affection on her part -be careful what you wish for...) so I'm a walking zombie. The house is a mess, I'm drowning in ironing and I need to feel the sun on my skin and sand between my toes, I'm on the road to a serious meltdown. Like serious.

I'm hoping that once Lil's naming day has been and gone, husband will announce we're off to somewhere beautiful and hot for a week. Right now, I'd give anything for a tan and the sound of waves (not a sunbed and the baby sleep app on my phone...). Hell, I'd even give up nagging him about New York and I NEED my beloved New York.

Being a Mother is so hard. So, so hard. You lot that have done it more than once are either mental or need to tell me what you take to get through the day.

Answers below. PLEASE.

WE'VE GOT A SPOON LICKER!

Yesterday I spent the day at my Grandparents house. After not a lot of sleep and a teething baby, it was a welcome relief and I know Lil enjoyed the change of scenery.

My Grandad cooked lunch while Lil played on the floor with her ever increasing pile of toys and my Nan fixed my wonky knitting for me while I watched (I'm making Lilian some blankets for the dolls pram her Noonoo - my Nan - is buying for her birthday).

Once we'd filled our boots with soup and crusty rolls, Grampy started baking some chocolate brownies. And then this happened...

She licked the spoon!

This is what having a baby is all about. Such wonderful, happy memories.

Oh look...

The start of a new year.

I won't bore you with all the amazing things that happened in 2011 because if you're a regular reader, you'll already know (well only one amazing thing happened: I had a baby). I also won't bore you with all my aims and resolutions but I should probably aim to shave my legs more than once every three months and tone my bad language down. We'll see...

I'd like to thank all of you lot for reading my nonsense, it means a lot that people want to know what's going on in my life (you're a nosey bunch).

2012, I hope, will bring you all everything your hearts desire. May you have good health and your days be filled with laughter and smiles.

Happy New Year xoxo
